As of 20.06.2022, any holder of an FAA (US) licence may no longer exercise the rights under his licence without an additional EASA licence. Thus, cross-border flights with an N-registered aircraft with an EASA licence are no longer permitted.<\/p>

    In May 2021, EASA published the TIP-L procedure, which regulates the transfer of licences. This primarily enables the uncomplicated transfer of private pilot licences PPL(A) and the associated ratings (VFR-Night, IR, SEP and MEP). Other ratings\/licences, such as CPL or ATPL, as well as other class ratings such as SET or TMG, can unfortunately not be transferred via this route.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    the following criteria must be met in order to apply for an EASA licence:<\/p>

    • EU Medical<\/li>
    • Application to the authority and proof that the FAA licence is currently valid and current<\/li>
    • Proof of language proficiency in English<\/li>
    • Training and preparation for the theoretical and practical examination as required<\/li>
    • Proof of training or proof of experience for VFR night rating, if applicable<\/li>
    • Skill Test by an EASA Flight Examiner FE(A)
