Class Rating for Piper Meridian, M500, M600 and Jetprop (PA-46 SET)
Course for obtaining the rating for the turbine versions of the Piper M-Class:
Pre-Entry Requirements
- EASA PPL or higher
- 200h of total pilot experience and 70h of PIC
- hold the High Performance Aeroplane Knowledge Course (HPA) or having completed ATPL-theoretical knowledge credit (Roxta Air can provide the HPA course for those pilots who require it)
Credits for previous experience
With substantial flight experience on similar aircraft types (single pilot HPA with one or more turbine engines) in a general aviation context, the required minimum training time can be adjusted and reduced accordingly.
Flight & Theoretical Knowledge Training
- 16 hours of theoretical knowledge instruction (14 hours online self study & 2 hour instructor led wash-up)
- Completion of the theoretical training by a written final test (100 questions, conducted at Roxta Air).
- Minimum of 8 hours of flight training
- Completion of training by examiner (EASA License Skill Test)
Timescale
Typical duration of the training approx. 5 days (including 2 days of online theory course)
Before starting the practical flight training, we further consolidate your theoretical knowledge on site. Afterwards, you can take the final theoretical test with us.
ICAO Conversion
If you are a current turbine PA46 pilot operating on the basis of an ICAO licence, we can assist you in obtaining an EASA licence and the PA-46 SET class rating.
The training package for an ICAO conversion includes all mandatory training elements of the full course, but no minimum training amount is specified. Expect at least 4 hours of practical training and a time requirement of two full days.
Differences Training
We are happy to offer Differences Training for all models of PA-46 including Meridian, M500, M600 and Jetprop.
